Princess Party Food: Planning a Delicious Menu For a Royal Party

Party food is one of the most important items on a party planner’s checklist.  If you are planning a princess party, make sure to choose a menu that supports your theme.   In addition to a princess cake or cupcakes, you may choose to serve additional food for lunch or brunch.

The princess party food you serve can be sugary or healthy, depending on the taste of the birthday girl.  No matter what you serve, keep in mind that appearance is everything.  Choose fancy serving dishes or have the food displayed in an attractive arrangement.

If you want to serve sweet-tasting princess party food, consider a chocolate fountain.  Chocolate fountains can be rented, but are often inexpensive enough to purchase and use on other occasions.  A chocolate fountain is fun and fancy and everyone loves them.  Let guests choose strawberries, bananas, pretzel rods or marshmallows to dip in the chocolate stream.

A chocolate fountain is a very popular, but can be a little messy (especially with very young guests).  Make sure to set up the fountain in an area that can be easily cleaned.  In addition, the fountain requires adult supervision at all times.

Another option for sugary princess party food is cookies or brownies in princess shapes, such as a crown, glass slipper or castle.  You can easily find a variety of cookie cutters in these popular princess shapes.  If you are looking for additional party activities, guests can decorate the cookies or brownies before they eat them.

There are also healthy party food options.  Consider simple sandwiches cut into a princess shape with a cookie cutter.  A peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut in the shape of a tiara becomes princess food.

If your party is early in the day, serve brunch.  Pancakes cooked in the shape of a heart or princess dress will be a success.  Metal cookie cutters can be used to shape the pancakes as they cook.

No matter what princess party food you serve, choose fancy dishes that only come out on special days.  Let everyone know that this princess party is a royal occasion.
